Sneaky Satan

Just what kind of culture do we live in? I submit that we are society that says we are sophisticated but is actually quite barbaric. I believe that we are living in barbaric times. What has progressive sexual liberation brought us and what does it advocate? The answer is homosexuality, transsexuality, trans-gender sexuality, abortion on demand, around the clock pornography, soft drugs, and euthenasia for anyone not perfect; these are becoming the norm in many places.

We live in a post-modern liberalism which has become a form of cultural barbarism under the guise of tolerance and acceptance and hence we are a more barbaric society because of it. All of the traditions that we have grown up with are being steam rolled over by these cultural degenerates. In case you haven’t noticed: Abortions have become the norm; Divorce has become the norm; Pornography has become the norm; Drugging yourself is acceptable; Being a single mother is acceptable; Teen age sluts are acceptable. Homosexuality, bisexuality, and transexuality are now considered lifestyle choices.

I was in Amsterdam recently and marveled at how beautiful the city was, or so I thought. The canals, bridges, cobblestone roads, etc. After taking a second look I realized this was a façade’ (Matt 23:25). The Dutch now want to go a step further. It’s not enough that they have sex museums and sex clubs in Amsterdam. It’s not enough that whores advertise themselves in windows. Its not enough that marijuana is legal. It’s not enough that they allow euthanasia down to the age of 12. No, all of that is not good enough. What is the last frontier for these cultural degenerate barbarians? It is child pornography and engagement in pedophilia. A new group called Charity of Freedom and Diversity (emphasis on diversity where diversity is usually a code word for perversity). CFD advocates reducing the illegal age of sex from 16 to 12. This Dutch group says that sex with children should be legal. They also advocate legalization of bestiality and that citizens should be allowed to go naked in public. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate any barriers that prevent them from having sex with anyone at any age. Their argument is that a ban only makes a child curious. This is the world in collapse. This is the West in collapse. This is the world that many are trying to make sense out of and it is impossible to make sense of a cultural barbarism of this kind.

When you hear the word “Progressive” or “Diversity” or “Tolerance” you must understand who is behind this (1 Pet 5:8). After you understand who is behind this you then have to understand what you are fighting for (Matt 6:33). Please remember this the next time you spend valuable time and money researching the latest that Hollywood has to offer such as who is now married to whom for the third time or who is now out of the closet. How many of us know more about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, or Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, than they do the book of James or Philippians?

Let me put this in biological terms. The AIDS infection is a retro virus. It invades the body and then it lays in wait. And while it lays in wait it begins to attack the immune system itself. Only after the immune system is weakened can infections arise. This is what Satan is doing. Satan is in essence the HIV virus aiming toward our souls. He weakens the defense cells of a people. What are our defense cells? Well, the church, the Bible, prayer life, godliness, all of which are constantly under attack (see most Hollywood movies and T.V. shows, most college universities, etc.). As our defense cells are weakened the opportunistic infections arise because our surveillance is not permitted. The defense reaction mechanisms that are built in, such as discipline in the church, are not utilized because they have been broken down and consequently infections arise. What are the infections? You can name many of them. For one our lives have become too complicated to focus on the things that really matter. When was the last time you attempted to send off for a $10 rebate from a purchase at a computer store? It might take an hour to put together the correct documents including the UPC code, copy of receipt, and a correctly filled out rebate form.

Through the sword of tolerance and the sword of liberalism Satan is causing the greatest upheaval in our society. As our society circles the drain we can see a pattern developing. Many European countries were the first to enact liberal divorce laws and legalize abortion, the U.S. followed shortly thereafter. The current debates in our society such as homosexual marriage and legalized drugs have already passed in most of Europe. Now that this Dutch group is pushing for legalized pedophilia and bestiality look for that debate to take form in our society in a few years.

Which one of us does not want to lay a foundation for our children and grandchildren to have a healthy spiritual environment? Have you noticed that there is a shortage of preachers and elders everywhere? This means that there is a tremendous amount of work to be done. We need to stop the tolerance of deviant behavior EVERYWHERE. This might mean that you have to change some of your entertainment habits. We need to stop the liberalizing of God’s precious Word, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15). Let us not be blind to what is going on around us and realize that God is counting on us to be the salt and light in a barbaric civilization.
